If accurate, the growth rate would easily outdistance the 3.1 percent gain for 2017 in the same three-month period.

what other metric would you suggest?
Not sure, I think it needs to be referenced with other metrics to be meaningful. One I like is GDP with PPP (purchasing power parity) and what the GDP to debt ratio is has a lot to say. Also we've been in talks with officials of Bhutan, have you heard of Gross National Happiness? I think crypto is going to help derive different metrics to gauge growth, etc... GDP is ancient these days... Thats the beauty of evolution, all things die and something more beautiful will be created, I think GDP's time is near its end.

Wow! If we hit 4.6, that would be unbelievable. That would actually help the inflated stock market PE ratios eventually come into historic line a bit, too. Just another side benefit....
