This is an OLD article from .............well...MotherJones (you KNOW how they are) but perhaps you can get the general idea of what a meshnet is.
I wonder how far it's come today?
I recently heard about "Mesh-Nets." This is a very, very cool idea: pooling local wireless resources into a local WiFi network that's cheaper or free for local people to use - to access the internet - AND it's faster!!! What more could you want - free coffee?
