RE: LAB-GROWN ‘CLEAN’ MEAT COULD BE ON SALE

in #discussion7 years ago

I did the math a few years ago on the current feral hog population here in Michigan, but the typical 2 litters each year of 10 each isn't happening here. Maybe due to the winters or predators. I lived in Texas for a few months finishing my army time at Fort Hood after returning from Vietnam. I hunted quail and doves, but that was before the pig invasion.

Sort:

I used to raise hogs...best I recall they had a LOT more than two litters a year...and ten or twelve pigs per litter.

I used numbers provided by the Michigan Dept. of Natural Resources and I've not got the benefit of any experience as you have. I know that they will one day be a problem here in Michigan, but I doubt I'll have enough life span left when they are a problem to hunt them. Most likely in a domestic environment they breed more often than in the wild, but I'm just guessing. Thanks again for the reply and upvote, sir.

you're welcome.
I raised hogs in the middle eighties.
I suppose I mis remembered.
