ALMOST captured an ace on film :) Westmoreland Park Disc Golf Course - Hole 7
I played another round at Westmoreland Park and after having filmed my drives on holes 7 - 9 from the tee pad a few days ago, I decided to set my camera up down by the basket on hole 7 and take a few runs at the ace. I knew these shots were close but honestly from up on the tee pad I had no idea just how close they were!
When I looked at the footage this morning I was astonished to see that I had two drives in a row come very close to the ace. The first one went directly over the basket and was probably only about 6" (or less!) too high for the ace. You can see the light on the basket and chains turn green as the sun shines through the disc as it passes directly over the top.
The next drive was the right height to splash the chains, but just a few feet too far past the basket on the fly.
Dude, you play? So do I!! Love it!!! Don’t get to as often as I’d like but played some glow golf a couple of weeks back with my cousins in Charlotte. That’s always a blast.
Nice! I have never played glow golf but always wanted to. I usually play a ton of disc golf but the past few years having two babies slowed down my roll a lot. Just a few months ago we put them both in a daycare four days a week and I have been able to get some rounds in again.
That’s awesome. Yeah I was gonna do a quick piece on it. I’ll tag ya in it! I love traveling to different courses. I love one that’s about an hour drive from me. It’s called Tyler State Park. Killer course there in Pa.
Congratulations, Your Post Has Been Added To The Steemit Worldmap!

Want to have your post on the map too?
That is really cool, @carlgnash! I love reading your posts about the Portland area. I remember Westmoreland Park from childhood but of course haven’t been there in many years. I seem to remember it had a duck pond. Definitely there was no disc golf course in those days.
Oh I didn't realize there was a Westmoreland Park in Portland as well (but I see there is now, thanks Google!) - this was in Westmoreland Park in Eugene, Oregon. It is a small little park smack dab in the middle of the city, when I used to work in downtown Eugene I could ride my bike there and fit 18 holes in my hour long lunch break if I ran between every shot :) Much love - Carl
You know this needs some slow-mo , colour saturation and deep weird electronic music !!!! I give you a month , video rules cause its weird and mental but a unique time capsule
Great throw! How did you teach your Yeti not to run after and grab your discs? LOL!!
Yeti has her very own disc which she carries around when we play disc golf. It has her name on it :) It is a special doggo disc made out of very durable but softer plastic. From a puppy we trained her not to go after the disc golf discs, she knows which one is her disc and which ones are our discs :)
