Broke the Toilet Seat
I had a bunch of ideas about how this WheelLife vlog was going to be just as awesome asCasey Neistats work.
Then I had the urinary infection and cracky back, so this is all I got for this week. It's honest, what do you think?
My friend Gijs told me to stay authentic, develop my own style. Great feedback Gizzo, but I strayed off a bit. I was comparing my first 3 episodes with the big YouTubers and felt insecure, inexperienced & overwhelmed by their dedication to the upload.
But I won't stop. Because creativity is like water. It becomes the cup. Or the teapot. Or the Spinal Cord Injury.
I put this epilogue because I was ashamed of how I didn't upload for a week.
But that was the plan...
#1 WheelLife Wednesday - Broke the Toilet Seat
COMPLETED.
At the end is Louis, my sensei. He fixed my back this week. Together we've faced countless injuries. We train together almost every day. He has taught me to value rest & recovery. And we've been able to increase the performance of my body, despite of the broken neck, broken leg, and countless injuries due to over-usage, cramps, and poor functional patterns.
Every time we see eachother, I have to endure a great deal of pain and strain. We always do it with big smiles and lots of laughter. Water is fluid, it has little friction. Without Louis I would be lost. Unable to figure out this spinal puzzle, unable to experiment with my neuro-plasticity.
I thank my body for carrying my spirit this far, and beyond.
I thank people like Louis.
For staying like water.
You've had time, what do you think?
How do you dealwith injuries?
Are they physical or mental?
Can you stay happy during injuries?
Because I'm injured all the time.
WheelLife is about the life of TheDisabledEnabler.com
I broke my neck in 2012,
but that couldn't stop me from living
the lavish lifestyle of a labrador.
Traveling and enjoying great company,
getting in touch with what lies within.
