BTC-e informó a la comunidad de usuarios que retomó el control de su base de datos y monederos, después de que agencias de seguridad estadounidenses decomisaran los equipos en su centro de operaciones.
La declaración fue hecha a través de la cuenta asociada a la desaparecida casa de cambio en Bitcointalk; sin embargo, se desconoce quien ha publicado en nombre de la compañía a través de la cuenta. El mensaje, sería la cuarta actualización desde que las irregularidades con la casa de cambio empezaron en julio de este año.

Asi mismo, la publicación afirma que el flujo principal del servicio y las transacciones depende de Mayzus Financial Services, una compañía que provee transacciones con dinero en línea, que para este momento está suspendida. Previamente, BTC-e había informado a sus usuarios que planeaba restablecerse, no obstante, si para finales de agosto no sucedía, comenzarían a devolver los fondos a sus usuarios el 1 de septiembre.
En la declaración anterior a la aquí descrita, la casa de cambio se pronunciaba respecto a la operación del FBI en la que le habían sido incautados los equipos en su centro de operaciones. Para ese momento, también señalaron que Alexander Vinnik, el ruso recientemente arrestado por el robo multimillonario a MtGox, no figuraba como empleado de la plataforma ni mucho menos director de BTC-e.
Recordemos que Vinnik enfrenta varios cargos relacionados con el lavado de dinero, la operación de un negocio de servicios monetarios sin licencia y transacciones monetarias ilegales. Las investigaciones arrojaron que Vinnik poseía unas 21 cuentas diferentes en la plataforma de BTC-e que usaba, presuntamente, para un esquema internacional de lavado de dinero. El sujeto también fue vinculado al caso Mt.Gox, pues cerca de 300.000 bitcoins estaban almacenados en las carteras de BTC-e.
Por otra parte, resalta que según un estudio de Google junto con la Universidad de California, la Universidad de Nueva York y la compañía de análisis de la blockchain Chainalysis, de los rescates pagados por víctimas de ransomware durante los últimos dos años, al menos un 95% se rastrearon hasta la ahora extinta casa de cambio BTC-e. Sobre todo debido a que sus medidas para la identificación y de usuarios es baja, lo que la hace perfecta para estos crímenes.
Conclusion: Solo queda espera el mes de septiembre para saber si se logra recuperar el dinero que tengamos en el exchanger.
