Why Steemit Will Crush Facebook

in #digital7 years ago

You or someone you know has a Facebook account. After years of being one of the most popular social media websites, they have censored more and more content, put unwanted sponsored adds that I did not want to see in my feed, sold information about me to marketers, and included fake news pushing hidden agendas. I have found that this "old world" of marketing was set up in a way that does not have the best interest of the end user.

After finding Steemit, I learned of a new model of social media that allows for the end user to be the benefactor of the platform, flipping over conventional models of social media.

Having just recently read the book "Disrupt You" by Jay Samit, I would like to share a key finding that I have gained.

Just because we have the ability to make a cheaper, stronger and faster CD player with more features does not mean that the market wants a better CD player. People were willing to buy an expensive MP3 player that has limited storage space and requires a computer nerd to know how to use it properly.

Steemit is much like the early versions of the MP3 Player that was missing mainstream adoption because of under developed features such as limited storage in its infancy. As we see these patterns develop and play out, we can see that the MP3 player became sucessfuly adopted by the main stream. Then to be disrupted again on the hardware side and added as a feature to smartphones that are now heavily used throughout the world.

Even with all of this digital and tech growth we still only have 3.7 billion Internet users world wide, clocking in at a little over half of the world using devices connected to the internet.

In a study done by Morgan Stanly there will be 75 Billion devices connected to the Internet of things when we reach the year 2020. That's a little over 10 devices connected for every living person. I would love to get your feedback about what that will be like, please comment your thoughts below. Amazing post!!
I hate the direction facebook is going! That is another reason I came here.

They are destroying themselves by actively promoting one point of view over another. Twitter is worse as is Periscope. It's all becoming one big data mining experiment.

That sucking sound you here is you, inch by inch, being sucked up into the maw of the corporatocracy.

Hello @goldgoatsnguns
sounds like you are so deep into steemit and crypto there is no turning back. Join the team brother!

gladly. I think this experiment has real potential to alter the communications landscape. Followed, FYI.

Thank you @kaylinart,
I really appreciate that I am ready to help others make the change to use steemit! This platform has so much potential. Only if people knew what they are missing out on by staying on Facebook.

Look at you snagging a whale on your first post. Nice job.

By small and simple things. I think of the story of the honey bee and how they do what they do consistantly every day contributing to the colony. In the end, they have made valuable gold. Through the hard work.

Oh interesting! I believe cryptocurrency will fund the Internet of things 👍🏼 Thanks for sharing

Fancy seeing you on Steemit. The Future of Globalization will create more and more of a need for digital currency to make transactions across borders faster cheaper and quicker than fiat currency.

Thanks for sharing. I'm anxious to introduce my friends to this platform as well and will definitely advise them to follow you for more great posts.

Make sure Jack starts an account this week I want to chat more with him I am sure he would have some good input:)
