I

have been pretty much, all day, just reading this guy's stuff. His insights about the error of applying outdated newtonian physics to biology and chemistry, and all kinds of things... all day my mind has been blowing, and I'm really happy about that.

So, while there is so much I could share about this, I am just going to make one post about his recommendations for diet.

Now, it's important to understand a few things, before you go looking at that. First, I highly recommend reading widely the various articles he mentions in his blog. The explosive nature of some of his discoveries are so contrary to modern mainstream medicine, but they are completely aligned with the much more reputable field of quantum physics.

This is not Deepak Chopra, new agey hogwash, nor is it Paleo canon. However, most of the paleo stuff is right. But what's more important is how important time and circadian cycles. I have got most of the issues that indicate this diet, and I have tried it to a sufficient degree already to be quite confident that it is the treatment I need.

There are a few very key principles you need to understand in this.

Firstly, timing is critical. The disruption of circadian cycle regulation and other endocrine functions is the main indicator, and you get a whole array of mood, cognitive and sleep problems. It is probably in part due to the relatively strict and usually early-rising early to bed childhood home, that I was not more visibly dysfunctional as a child. Possibly diet may have played a role - it was largely vegetarian food in my Seventh Day Adventist childhood home environment.

When I was young, I used to wake up absolutely booming with energy. I remember one incident in which I awoke, and within seconds I was already running out the door, alert enough to act as though I was in a high state of CNS arousal. I haven't had this happen to me in about 6 or 7 years.

I also have many 'peculiarities' that I am constantly being quizzed about, like that I prefer not to wear very much clothes (this improves absorbing solar energy) I prefer to walk barefoot, I am always taking my shoes off whenever I get the chance, and I tend to sit cross-legged at desks, I squat a lot of the time rather than standing (the perspective is always a bit odd), and my body rapidly burns sugars for heat, and actually, in general, carbohydrates make me very sleepy.

I also know I am above average in the acuity of my senses. But because I am also abnormally intelligent, even when my senses tell me otherwise, when I am facing clear resistance, I will back down, I am not obsessive, about anything except this quest for healing.

back to the subject a bit more:

The info I learned about the paleo diet and ketogenic (high fat, zero carb) diets has been greatly expanded by what I have read from Jack Kruse.

The body has two metabolic protocols, the summer and winter protocol. In summer, when high carb foods are prevalent, in fact humans literally get more of their energy from the sun. We don't burn carbs like gasoline in an engine. The carbs are broken down to synthesise ATP, which is supposed to unfold proteins to allow water to enter their interstices, and in this state, they become literally superconductive, and this is actually how we absorb energy.

The archaic dietary regime, dictated by natural cycles, has this winter protocol, during which the diet is supposed to be, pretty much, 100% dead animals, including all the non-biohazard organ meats. This metabolic protocol also improves temperature regulation, though it does not happen without sufficient salt intake. I have always had a problem with carb foods leading to me being constantly excessively hot, and sweating, which depletes the salts, which diminishes the energy absorption in digestion (sodium chloride is required to make stomach acid and bile, and sweat causes it to be lost).

So, anyway, reading through the recommendations in the link above, a few points stand out:

  • The primary foods are meat, preferably seafood (shellfish, crustaceans, and then fish, in preference), but if not, then the saturated fats become more important (marine fats are more readily usable by the human body).

  • The types of fats you should adapt to the season, for summer, the best is coconut, and then butter, and then dripping/lard, but in winter, better is butter and the high saturated fat animal fats (lard/dripping).

  • All grains and seeds should be eliminated, this includes peanuts, which are not nuts, but a type of legume, which is a seed. Also, you should not eat any kind of A1 protein dairy product (A2 is the older, more healthy one), and you should not eat any kind of solanacae. (potatoes, tomatoes, capsicum, etc). GMO soy is hybridised with a solanacae, so it is also out, as well as being a legume (seed).

  • Optional to eliminate: nonseasonal fruit in your currennt location, fowl, with the exception of duck, any kind of sweetener

  • Sea Vegetables are very good for their mineral content and other substances like alginate

That's pretty much the whole deal. I am going to be implementing this in the immediate future, because I know that these recommendations must be correct, based on the small amount of trials I have done in the last decade or so. It's pretty serious, and difficult for me, because I still find myself craving carbs, even though I don't really feel hungry. And these restrictions are fairly difficult to accommodate, but I feel confident that as the iodine supplementation, magnesium soaks and earthing start to cause noticable effects (I expect this in the next few days) that it will be easier.

The last point, and I briefly touched on it, is about timing. This is not part of this diet protocol, but part of this one: https://www.jackkruse.com/my-leptin-prescription/ - eat as soon as possible after waking in the morning, and the breakfast should be high carb, high fat. I figure something like greasy eggs and bacon, I guess, it would be best with greens, like spinach and kale, maybe a little stuff like carrots, turnips, and the like. I'm not sure how I am going to do it exactly, but I am going to do my best to follow this protocol.

There is other interesting stuff too

Outside of this - cold conditioning. Yes, the traditional winter activity common in north-eastern europe. It is advised to start gently with it, but the principle is that when you force your body to adapt to moderately excessive cold (just short of your skin going from pink to white), the endocrine system switches to winter metabolism, which activates the fat metabolism mode (winter), and improves the amount of nutrients and energy you absorb from these kinds of paleo foods.

PS

I finally steeled myself to try some cold adaptation exposure, and I am not adapted. I remember when I was eating a diet of about 60-70g of pig fat a day, within a week I started to not feel so hot during summer, and the subject of thermal shock treatment keeps coming up, so I feel obliged to really give it a go.

You have to be gentle when cold-adapting, or it will make you sick, but I know from experience with excessive heat shock therapy, which I am simply inclined towards - super hot baths - these slow down the metabolism, and decrease thermogenesis. This is not a bad thing for me, because I am very lean. However, especially now in summer time, intentionally shocking my nervous system with cold to trigger changes in the endocrine system, is the correct thing to do.

This post by Kruse explains the reasons behind why to do this: https://www.jackkruse.com/cold-thermogenesis-6-the-ancient-pathway/

In simple terms, cold adaptation switches your metabolism to winter, fat burning mode, and it increases the metabolism, especially when the cold is quite intense and shocking, it will make you feel more awake and alert, almost immediately, hence the convention of trying to throw cold water on someone who has fallen unconscious.

Basically, because we are accustomed to eating high carb foods whenever we want them, and most damagingly, in winter time, our metabolism tends to be stuck in sugar metabolism mode, and in winter, this this causes weight gain and slowing of the metabolism.

Cold adaptation rapidly switches the system to fat burning, and if you are overweight, you know it's working because you will radiate warmth. High fat, and sufficient salt intake combined together, in winter, will allow you to stay warm without carbs. And speaking of that, snacks are right out, well, not specifically with the epi-paleo rx, but the related leptin one. I know that I am not leptin insensitive, after reading the symptoms he lists, but I think the thing of eating a high fat/protein breakfast preferably around sunrise, is also needed at least in my case.

When I was eating a lot of pig fat, I actually found I did not need to eat more than once a day, if the meal had around 60-70g of fats in it. I don't have a weight problem, but kinda the opposite, instead I am sleepless, underweight, depressed and lacking appetite, for anything... When my energy levels are up, these problems go away, and that's what the paleo diet seems to do for me.

Oh, one more thing:

Why do you need to eat within 30 minutes of waking?

When you’re LR, your diurnal clocks in the brain, the liver, and muscles are all disordered. This is how we will reset those organs to once again act in unison, like an orchestra. If you break this rule, you can still find success, but it will make your reset take longer.

I am not leptin resistant, I don't have a weight problem, and I am a 'fat burner', what this actually means is that when sugar hits my blood, my heater turns on, burns all that rubbish, leaves behind all the superoxides, and then leaves me feeling sleepy, intensely, so much so that I investigated whether I may have narcolepsy. But I don't.

However, my diurnal clocks are completely out of whack. In fact, probably what I need more than anything is to spend a week with absolutely no electricity around me, with the right kinds of food available, and running on a strict solar-driven schedule, to get everything back into sync. I'm not sure how I am going to do all of this but one little thing at a time... knowing the right theory to support and justify an action is often the hardest part of the battle.
