How Hot is Safe?

in #diesel7 years ago

With injector nozzles this BLUE from heat (yep that's right it's been so hot the metal has gone blue) it can only be expected that this set of injectors are in need of servicing and also later the fuel injection pump checked for overfuelling.

Fuel makes Power in a Diesel. There's no denying that. The fact it makes Power so easily has lead to a massive increase in ever corner shop becoming a 'Diesel Tuner'.

With this 'simple to do' Power adjustment, also comes the forgotten responsibility of Engine Power making Heat in a Diesel. And Heat Damages Engines. Full Stop.

Don't be a Casualty of the Corner Shop Tuner. Get your Diesel in to be checked, serviced and tuned properly by Experts in the trade like us here at www.thedieselexperts.com

We see it all the time.

Customer: "after the exhaust shop did the exhaust they tuned the pump. Well it went like a rocket no doubt. After a few months though I'm starting to get worried by the every increasing soot pouring out of the exhaust. In fact when we last towed the van she got quite hot going up a big hill.... "

Now the customer is in with us and what do we see. The usual. Fuel screw wound up, black smoke and injectors BLUE from combustion heat and inconsistent spray pattern across the 6 of them.

Be educated. Stay alert and ask questions the next time anyone goes near the tune on your Diesel. Ask them, "are you licensed and a registered workshop?" You might get a rude shock to learn they're not even legit! Asking questions might also save you an engine rebuild!
