EA on Battlefield V: "accept women or do not buy it"
One of the managers of the company ditches the controversy about the game.
In an interview with the portal Gamasutra , Patrick Soderlund, of the top management of Electronic Arts, has addressed the controversy of the appearance of women soldiers in Battlefield V. After a reasoning exercise, the conclusion of Soderlund has been direct, firm and necessary: "Accept it or do not buy Battlefield V ".
The fans who charged EA and DICE for the women of Battlefield V argued that historical accuracy had been sacrificed in pursuit of political correctness, something that Soderlund has denied directly. "We speak of poorly educated people, do not understand that it is a plausible situation, and listen: it is a game, the panorama of games today is more diverse in genres, more than ever " he explains.
"There are many women who want to play, and also men who want to play like a strong woman, we do not walk with preamble, we get up because of the cause, because I think that people who do not understand it, well, you have two options: accept it or not You buy the game, I'm worth anybody, it's just not right. "
Battlefield V arrives on October 19 to PC, PS4 and Xbox One. It will do it by releasing free content without a season pass, with campaign and battle royale mode , and many women soldiers fighting in World War II. In the past, DICE had already found that they would have no qualms about sacrificing accuracy for fun .
