My Globe LTE Pocket Wifi Experience

Right now, I am at ground zero. While waiting for the bar exam results, I rented a unit that is close to where I work. Kaya lang inabutan pa rin niya ako ng print out na number mula sa kanilang electronic counter at sinabing iisa lang ang cashier nila that night kaya kelangan ko pumila together with the other customers na magbabayad ng bill etc.

At that time, number 80 ang sine-serve ng one and only cashier at ako ay number 105. Habang naghihintay, nakita ko si iyong isang ate globe girl na nagbibilang nung Globe LTE pocket wifi naka-display sa harap ng cashier. May 13 units pa daw sila. Sa isip ko, bongga! At least meron pa.

Pero siyempre hindi naman ako nagmaldita, sinabi ko lang in a very calm manner na hindi puwede dahil 8 PM pa ako nandun at sinabi ko na sa guard pero sinabihan niya akong pumila. I think na-sense ni Ate ang aking pagiging monster kaya kahit alam kong labag sa kalooban niya ay inasikaso niya ako after niya ma-shock ng slight. Minsan hindi mo kailangan sumigaw at makipag away in a soap opera fashion to get your point across. Ka-cheapan kasi iyon for me.

So ayun, nakabili na nga ako ng pocket wifi at eto na ang unboxing. May kasama palang pre-paid na LTE sim with free 5GB surfing valid for 7 days.

Nag-random testing lang ako sa pinaka unang speed test na lumabas sa google.

So far kasi puro documents lang naman ang ina-access ko at di pa ako nag-stream ng movies or kahit nanonood sa YouTube, mabilis naman and it is serving its purpose.

Actually dapat ang ibilhin ko ay iyong prepaid na Globe Home Wifi pero after reading the review made by utterlyrandomtechie na kelangan pala nakasaksak siya sa outlet dahil witchikels ito battery, I have decided na mag pocket wifi na lang.

SETTING UP YOUR GLOBE LTE POCKET WIFI

Madali lang naman i-set up. You don't need to put the sim card inside your phone.

1. The Globe LTE pocket wifi comes with a Prepaid LTE sim na tri-cut. The sim slot of the pocket wifi is fitted for the regular sim card so wag niyo na i-disassemble.
   NOTE: Medyo mahirap buksan iyong pocket wifi kaya if you notice sa unboxing picture ko may mini-cutter na kasama. Nag-effort talaga akong buksan siya.

2. Insert the simcard in the slot, tapos put the battery in its proper slot and then close.
   NOTE: Copy the SSID and the Wi-Fi network key found inside the cover after opening the pocket wifi

3. Turn it on. Pag GREEN iyong light ng battery symbol, madami pa siya charge. Pag GREEN iyong light ng signal symbol ay happy ka dapat.

4. Now you need to connect your gadget via wifi option ng phone or laptop mo. Piliin mo siyempre iyong SSID sa options ng mga WIFI connection and then enter the Wi-Fi network key. Iyon iyong series of numbers.

5. Open your preferred browser. Automatic naman siya magko-connect sa Globe Web Interface pero in case hindi, just type http://192.168.8.1 sa address bar (minsan pag hindi gumagana iyan, try mo http://192.168.9.1). You can also change the Wi-Fi network key into something that you could easily remember.

6. Your globe pre-paid sim comes with a free PHP5.00 load. You can type FREE5GB and send it to 8080 through the web interface. Iyong response ng 8080 sa akin came after 1 hour so I had to wait for an hour bago ako nakapag-net dahil kuripot ako.

7. Once your free 5GB is used up, you can load it like a regular sim tapos just register sa mga usual GOSURF promos. May data cap pa din ito of course na 1GB in one day tapos magiging mabagal na siya ganern. Fair Use Policy kemerut ng globe.

So far happy puppy muna ako. And for that, work mode muna mga beks.
