NBA suspends lackers game

The NBA postponed the next game of the Los Angeles Lakers, scheduled for Tuesday against the Clippers of the same city, after the death of the retired star Kobe Bryant, his daughter and seven other people in a helicopter accident on Sunday.

In a statement, the league announced the decision on Monday, and said it took it "out of respect for the Lakers' organization."

Team members learned about the accident on Sunday, when they were flying back home from the East Coast. LeBron James and other Lakers players were sorry to get off the plane.

James issued his first public comments on Monday night, via the social network Instagram. He published photographs in which he appears next to Bryant.

Bryant had attended several Lakers games in the last 13 years, along with his daughter Gianna, who also died in the accident in Calabasas, California.

The NBA did not release a new date for the match between the two teams in Los Angeles.

The next commitment on the Lakers calendar is scheduled for Friday night, hosting Portland.
