The latest clinic investigation proved that there is a connection between diabetes and gum diseases. Diabetics are more likely to suffer from periodontitis, according to frequency it goes after heart and kidneys diseases.
And it’s not the only problem. The scientists say that this connection is mutually dependent. On the one hand, diabetes not only increases the risk of having problems with your gums, but also there is an opposite effect – the worse periodontitis goes, the harder is to control level of glucose, so it can worsen the state of diabetic’s health.
How to explain the disposition of this group to gum diseases? The answer is simple – people who suffer from it are more vulnerable to bacterial infections, because of low resistant ability of the gum tissue against infection.
