Accident Research Institute and Road Safety Foundation organized a roundtable meeting on Saturday in BUET.

In the circular, Professor Moazzem presented the research report that due to traffic congestion, the time wasted and financial losses were reported.

He said that due to traffic congestion in Dhaka, the speed of public transportation has come down to 5 kilometers per hour, where the average speed of walking is 5 km.

"Every day 50 lakh hours of work is being lost. The traffic congestion is damaging 37 billion rupees per year. "

According to the report, the public transport system of Dhaka city took 35 percent of the passengers to 35 percent of the trip every day.

Speaking about the impact of traffic congestion, Professor Moazzem said, "Due to traffic congestion, nine aspects of human character are being damaged in many ways. Mood has become tainted as well as the social impact of citizens. "

Professor Moazzem advised private companies to bring order to bring discipline to the city's traffic management.

He advised to take a coordinated program in traffic management with DTCA, CCS, Rajuk, RAD, LGED, BRTA.
