God is Good and Just

Can you think of a circumstance in your life when you felt like the promises of Scripture did not apply to you? In the Bible, Moses declared that the Lord is a faithful God, and all the ways of God are just. However, we all have -at a point in time- found ourselves in situations that seemed unfair and wrong. Some of the time,God did not intervene, so most Christians have struggled to reconcile their experiences with Moses’ statement about God.

The Bible is filled with lots of examples of godly people who encountered hardships that seemed absolutely unfair. For instance, Joseph was traded as a slave, David was also hunted by King Saul, and Apostle Paul suffered with a “thorn in the flesh” (2 Corinthians 12:7-10).

Circumstances such as these can cause us to question the goodness and justness of God. If left to solidify in our minds, these doubts may actually pave way to discouragement. That is when we easily commence pondering, What’s the essence of serving the Lord? Look at what it has gotten me—suffering and pains.

It is very vital that we remember that all that we know about God from His Word is far more accurate than what we feel. The Scripture makes it known to us that God is Good and Just, hence we can know with assurance that God has a great purpose for us in whatever experience we go through.

God allows each of us to encounter some trials that we are unable to comprehend. Our job, therefore, isn't to understand everything the Lord does and permits in our lives, but rather to know how to respond such situations. God will shall things right at the right time. In the meantime, continue to put your trust in the solid Rock when everything else is shaky. He will never disappoint you.
