The devil either as the adversary to the ego, aka Satan, which would be Lord God Jehovah's negative archetype, the first root chakra controlled by god of time Saturn, or the devil as the ruler of the Underworld, aka Hades, the archetype of the brain's awareness in the here and now, biblical Abel metaphor, as in opposite of there and then awareness of the mind, Cain metaphor. In either case, these archetypes are reference to the one whole human being. We ride the wave of life on top of the hidden abyss, not being separate from it, but rather as the manifestation of Dharma Order arising from Karmic wheels of infinite Chaos by way of Consciousness.
