[Game Development] Unity vs Unreal Engine

in #development7 years ago

Hello!

Are you game developer or do you just want to learn something new? You should totally check these two platforms!

Unity

Unity 3D is a multi-platform gaming engine developed by Unity Technologies. The first version supported only OS X and was introduced at the 2005 App Worldwide Conference. Now it supports almost every modern platform(console, mobile devices, etc..)

You can write your code in JS or C#. Whole platform is free, but it comes with another three license options. I tried Unity for long time and I even published small game :D

Unreal Engine

Unreal Engine is a gaming engine that was created by Epic Games. His first version of 1998 was used in Unreal. Since then, Unreal Engine has been upgraded and refilled several times to be used in several dozen newer titles.

In my opinion Unity is better for mobile devices and Unreal Engine for PC. What is your opinion? Let me know down in the comments.

I'm not a developer and could be mistaken, but depending on the goal, it's worth choosing the right engine. Both Unity and Enreal are still popular to this day. But what suits a specific game concept is worth discussing with specialists.

I suppose the choice of engine really depends on the type of game, on what mechanics you need, how you want to implement animation, graphics, and so on. Speaking of graphics https://arrible.com/services/game-art/, Arrible provides more than quality solutions for visual effects, making your game intuitive and memorable.
