🚴 Radfahren in Yangshuo, China -- Riding my bike in Yangshuo, China
Yangshuo and its beautiful countryside
We visited China last August and also stayed in Yangshuo for a few days. It is close to Guilin and known for the rafting tours on the Yulong River. We stayed in a small village just outside of Yangshuo and enjoyed the beautiful countryside with rice fields and other types of plants.
We decided to rent a bike to explore the area and just go along trails we found. They led us through the fields and along the river with the most beautiful (and hot!!) wheather. I mean... I was soaking wet after our tour 😅 No, I am not exaggerating.
I also had to get creative with my outfit since I got a slight sunburn the day before on my chest, arms and face. So of course I stole @justdentist 's cap and wore my cardigan backwards. ✌️ Queen of style.
Renting bikes in China is very easy, they are widely available and you can even rent city bikes pretty much everywhere you go in cities like Beijing and Shanghai. You just have to download an app, pay for the bike through that app and you can leave the bike whereever you want. Usually you do not have to bring city bikes back to a certain place.
Letzten August haben wir China besucht und auch ein paar Tage in Yangshuo verbracht. Die Stadt liegt nah bei Guilin und ist unter anderem für die Rafting Touren auf dem Yulong Fluss bekannt. Dort kann man ein Stück auf den traditionellen Booten fahren.
Wir haben uns in einem kleinen Dorf direkt bei Yangshuo in einem familiären, lokalen Hotel einquartiert und die schöne Landschaft zusammen mit den Reisfeldern genossen.
Um ein wenig mehr von der Gegend zu sehen haben wir uns dazu entschlossen ein Fahrrad zu mieten und einfach drauf los zu fahren. Die kleinen Wege haben uns durch die Felder und entlang des Flusses geleitet mit traumhaftem (und sehr heißem!!) Wetter. Sagen wir mal so... nach unserer kleinen Tour war ich pitschnass. 😅 Und nein, ich übertreibe nicht.
Ich musste an dem Tag auch etwas kreativ mit meinem Outfit werden. Am Tag davor habe ich mir leider einen kleinen Sonnenbrand am Dekolleté, den Armen und im Gesicht geholt. Also habe ich selbstverständlich @justdentist 's Cappie geklaut und mein Cardigan von vorn nach hinten getragen ✌️Eindeutig modisch überlegen.
Es ist übrigens super einfach Fahrräder in China zu mieten. Es gibt sie fast überall und vor allem in Städten wie Peking oder Shanghai gibt es die 'City Bikes'. Um sich so ein Fahrrad zu mieten benötigt man eine App, dann zahlt man über diese App und kann das Fahrrad normalerweise irgendwo wieder abstellen, ohne es an einen bestimmten Ort zurück bringen zu müssen.

Das ist ja eine wunderschöne Landschaft mit den Bergen im Hintergrund und alles so schön grün. So einen tollen Radweg hätte ich hier auch gerne.
Ja, es war wirkich traumhaft... Fast ein bisschen unwirklich, weil die Berge so interessante Formen haben 😃

I remember cycling in Xian last year over the city walls! Was so much fun and I believe that bicycle is the best trasnport to get to know a new city when it's possible :)
Yes! We were in Xian as well and we were thinking about renting a bike for the city wall - it was way too hot though (40°C+ in the blazing sun) 😓 So we decided just to stroll a bit. ;-)
Cycling or just wandering the streets is definitely the best option in my opinion as well to get to know a place.

No, but we had trouble finding our way to the river at first because we got stuck between the little houses ;-)
