Interesting work, In South Africa we don't normally have heating like yours in the houses. Some more expensive houses do have underfloor electric heating.
My house is very modern for our climate, we have sometimes -20 degree for a few days in the winter and long rainy weeks in autumn and spring and therefore heating is a must. In my next posts it will be explained in detail how it works: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heat_pump#Air_.28ASHP.29
