The most striking thing about this sculpture to me is the hands. I'm glad you have some close up images showing more detail on the hands. They have an essense, something about them that is really life like. The sculptor here really knows hands, but I think the same magic didn't happen with the face and the head. Sculpture is one of those art forms that is fascinating to me. When I come across a statue like this it makes me wonder a lot about the artist - who they are, and how they learned such an incredible skill.
