Étienne de La Boëtie stand im Beruf eines Hohen Richters seiner Zeit, er war Gelegenheitsautor und schuf vor rund 470 Jahren, diese bis in die heutige Zeit unerreichte Kampfschrift, ein Aufschrei gegen die Ungerechtigkeit des Absolutismus, der Ausbeutung der Menschheit und der materialistisch eingestellten katholischen Kirche, die die Inquisition und den Ablasshandel einführte.
Diese Kampfschrift diente in den folgenden Jahrhunderten immer wieder den Revolutionären im Kampf gegen die Unterdrücker und Ausbeuter, besonders aber den französischen Revolutionären 1789 bis 1799.

Étienne de La Boëtie was a high-ranking judge of his time, an occasional author who created around 470 years ago, this never-before-seen battle book, an outcry against the injustice of absolutism, the exploitation of humanity and the materialistic Catholic Church which introduced the Inquisition and the indulgence trade.
In the centuries that followed, this battle script served again and again the revolutionaries in the fight against the oppressors and exploiters, but especially the French revolutionaries 1789 to 1799.
