🐞 Fliegende Monster │ Flying Monsters 🐜
Vergangenen Sommer war ich in der Nähe von unserem Haus an einem Wasserrückhaltebecken unterwegs, als mir sehr große Käfer mit unbeholfenem Flug entgegen kamen. Es waren so viele dass ich unbedingt wissen wollte um welches Insekt es sich handelt. Insgeheim hoffte ich auf den Großen Eichenbock (Cerambyx cerbo), der ist aber extrem selten. Die gigantischen Fühler und der robuste Körper waren schon bemerkenswert. Auf den blühenden Sträuchern und Bäumen am Waldrand, hatten sich die Käfer in großer Anzahl niedergelassen. Sie ernähren sich dort von Pollen und pflanzten sich fort. Ein Blick in meine Bücher brachte mir die Gewissheit, dass es sich lediglich um den kleinen Eichenbock handelt.
Last summer I was near our house at a water retention basin on the way, when very large beetles met me with awkward flight. There were so many that I really wanted to know which insect it was. Secretly I hoped for the great capricorn beetle (Cerambyx cerbo), but it is extremely rare. The gigantic antennae and the robust body were already remarkable. On the blossoming bushes and trees at the edge of the forest, the beetles had settled in large numbers. They feed there on pollen and reproduce. A look at my books gave me the certainty that it was just the small capricorn beetle.

Klasse die Eichenböcke - schön eingefangen. Ich glaube, den habe ich auch schon mal gesehen.... Ziemlich beeindruckende Viecher. ;-)
Ins geheime habe ich natürlich erhofft es könnte der sehr seltene große Eichenbock sein. Aber anhand des Massenvorkommen war dies natürlich recht unwahrscheinlich. Aber ich habe mich natürlich auch über diesen sehr gefreut. Ein tolles Fotomotiv ist er auf jeden Fall.

Thank you very much for your message. I can't really decide which one I like better with the two pictures. In any case the beetle on the green leaves stands out better from its surroundings.
