Saarlouis ist die sechstgrößte Stadt im Saarland und die Saar fließt durch die Stadt.
Die Stadt wurde im Jahr 1680 vom französischen Sonnenkönig Ludwig XIV zum Schutz der Ostgrenze errichtet. Die Festungsstadt wurde symmetrisch in Sternform mit 6 Bastionen zur Aufstellung von Kanonen gefertigt.
Viele der Festungsanlagen sind noch erhalten und teilweise sind heute Gaststätten darin. Und ganz viele Denkmäler sind noch erhalten.
Ich hatte schon ein paar Posts von Saarlouis, aber heute starte ich ne kleine Serie.
