Kootenay, British Columbia

In British Columbia, in Canada, there is a beautiful park called Kootenay. And he even has his own motto, which reads: "from cacti to glacier." This very accurately reflects the nature of the terrain, as the glacier is completely adjacent to the green pastures and forests.

The name was given to the garden of the original Indian Kootenay, who previously lived in these places. And along with them, the community is populated by Indians from the Kinbasket tribe. The total length of the park area reaches 1406 square kilometers.

Kuteney is the object of many archaeological studies conducted by historians. They found that in ancient times, in the majestic mountains of the region, the hunter's territory was located for a season. But there are versions that have more opportunities to make it possible that when hunters catch bison, they have to cross the mountains to get to the eastern plains.

And for some reason they often organize hunting in places like that. Besides, in the mountains of Kuteneya there is a large amount of cold water containing iron. Thanks to this, he attracts animals and humans. And it is not surprising that there are many Indian tribes living in Kutenei. In addition, they extract red ocher in the mountains to paint, and this is another good reason to live and live there. After a while, red ocher extraction becomes commercial.

But not just the cold lake that is in the park. There is also a hot spring. A large group of them are seen in Sinclair Canyon.

Kooteney is rich in natural areas. Here are some of them: alpine tundra (alpine), alpine meadows, forest areas, magnificent mountain chains, ice-covered massifs, and fossils (ancient fossils). The natural zone shown here is considerable space, overgrown with grass and various plants, trees. Among them there are very interesting representatives, such as yellow leaf aspen, Sitha spruce, sauté (cypress), cereal and cactus. There is enough food for some animal species, and they roam there to make a profit.

Fauna Kutenei is famous for its harsh population. Among them are grizzly brown bears, baribals, virgins (white-tailed) and black-tailed deer, goats, deer, wolf pastures (coyotes), regular wolves, martens and guinea pigs. The local climate is beneficial for animals, therefore the national park is a very good habitat for them. It is worth noting that the park symbol is a mountain goat. He rarely appears somewhere in the meadow, but is hiding on the slopes of Mount Wardle.

Many tourists come to Kootenay to enjoy nature. But in its territory there is no hotel with all conditions. But there is a vast Red Camping Camp, located 2 miles above the town of Radium Hot Springs, on a sunny plateau. The campground is quite close to this place, and thanks to this there is the opportunity to play golf, shop or go to the restaurant. Redstrek is an ideal place for the whole family.
