Lucky Girl Design A Character Contest Entry

Here is the result of yet another amazing art jam thanks to @w0olf’s amazing design a character contest. I drew this cute girl on my IPad using the Apple Pencil, it had been quite a while since I had not drawn an anime girl which is a theme I would draw quite a lot as a teenager. The gambling inspired tattoos are an homage to my sister who also has them on her arm. I’m going to call her Wanda, she is an undercover CIA agent working at the casinos of Monaco trying to bust a group of corrupt Dons hellbent on money laundering. Her poker skills are what got her an invite into the tight inner circle she is investigating. She is originally from Spain but grew up in Baltimore.

I wish I took screen caps of the different tentatives to make the hands, I had a really hard time with them, next time.

I wanted a radical under-painting so that thes colors would appear faintly from underneath the brush strokes. The color green for the underpainting of the skin is a classic trick from the old masters.

The kids from my cartoon class love to see the work I do for this contest. One of them had asked what I was up to this week and they all gathered around me and helped with the color scheme. There was a consensus that this color combination was hard but we were all pleased with how it turned out. Many were sceptical about the yellow eyes but once they saw them, they were digging it. Now they all want to join Steemit to win cash prizes. Watch out people, not sure what force I unleashed exactly.

I’m going to be sad when the Clip Studio free trial ends, to be honest, these apps with a monthly payment feel a bit unfair. Thank you for tuning in, I hope you enjoyed seeing the process of creating Wanda. I love to create stories about strong women.
