Mele Kalikimaka Palm Tree for Xmas Decorative Pillow

Today, I had a sale from my Holiday Planet store—two accent pillows featuring my Mele Kalikimaka Palm Tree for Xmas design. I am very grateful to Judy from Fountain Valley, CA, and to the affiliate who promoted my item. Interestingly, from my back office, I can see that the buyer personalized her pillows in some way. Which is sort of surprising to me, since I did not create this item with customization or personalization in mind.

This design features a Hawaiian themed Christmas image—twin Palm trees (instead of an evergreen) on a red background, with the words Mele Kalikimaka underneath. The basic color scheme is red and green, with touches of white and brown. The Hawaiian phrase Mele Kalikimaka is Hawaiian for Merry Christmas. Or, more precisely, it's the English phrase Merry Christmas as pronounced in Hawaiian. And it was the title of a hit song in 1950. Whenever I do a new design, I tend to write a rather detailed description for it. In the original version of the above description, I actually mentioned the name of the singer (Bing Crosby) who had the hit record, Mele Kalikimaka, but Zazzle made me remove his name. They are very persnickety about that sort of thing.

Now that autumn is coming, I'm hoping that my sales will increase significantly (knock wood), as people celebrate the autumn and winter holidays. This time of year is always fun. I get to create some new holiday designs and revisit some old designs as my sales increase. With each sale I get a good feeling knowing that someone liked my work enough to actually pay money for it.
