Day and Night Mountain - Design Projects #6

Project number 6 from my photomanipulation works, featuring a simple day and night transition on a mountain landscape. The transition is pretty easy to make, but I manage to get a few things wrong.

The technique used for this one is relatively simple. First, I made sure to delete the sky from the original image, and keep only the mountains. Then, I added two new skies, one with the sunrise and one with the night. After that I started deleting parts of the skies (poorly, as you can see), in order to create the transition effect.

On the mountains the effect was added differently. I used the selection tool to select one part of the mountains, and I added several blue and dark blue filters in order to make everything look light it was night on that part of the mountains.

Then I inverted the selection, and I added a bunch of orange filters in order to make everything seem like the sun is rising.

I also made sure to keep the colors relatively close to the ones on the sky, and the moon is just a simple stock photo.
