How I designed the "Zefo" logo

Read on to see the final result...
I was commissioned to design a logo for a company/product called Zefo. And I was told specifically that the logo should be the word "Zefo" which essentially makes it a logotype

This was one of those rare and desirable times where you have one clear and distinct idea from the get go.

I wanted for the word to appear made from strips of material tilted at a 2-point perspective and encased in a square

I drew the first draft

wasn’t quite as I envisioned it but I knew that could be sorted out in later stages. I sent it and I was given the go-ahead to continue.

Then I tried to vector it from that sketch

Nah, Meh, rasp
Major problem was that the perspective was barely evident
So what I did was to draw what it should look like without perspective

And then using the transformation tool in Photoshop, I bent and distorted it to this

This now formed the base on which I created the final vector logo. I shrunk the “o” flared the stem of the “f” and made cuts where the strips overlapped to indicate shadow and also to show the end of each letter.
