My (jazzresin, aka billy sunshine) review of the album is such: Breathtaking! For me a complete narcotic effect when i listen. Even to this day. The harmonic progressions of the title track leave me gouged out utterly blitzo blotto....i recover and decide to drive....oh shit ive been swerving in time for miles now.....warning. In ear park is no cup of tea. The album is homage to daniel rossins father whom had passed recent when this album was released in 2008. The thanatos(death urge) looms larger than the healthy eros(life urge) ever present in daniels iconic ever young voice. After listening to this album almost 300 times i would prepare the listener to make sure to listen to it on your own accord and in a comfortable setting for it will imprint upon you and wrap your own memories unto. It is as if mr. Rossin made a formal complaint to the creator and the creator heard him and decided to intervene..... 3506E82E-9500-474B-BBFB-4FE9FF01B52D.jpeg
i am left floored remembering a vacation roadtrip driving into the smoky mountains from florida through georgia and finally to franklin north carolina. The edge of life and death resting on the zen of the present moment. What a vista but how precarious there is no ground. The heart feels heavy and unsure. A feeling of familiar confusion each time is like listening with new ears. Staggering genius and remarkable emotional sensitivity. There is no album that even comes close.A23AAECF-14C3-492E-A85E-37B581E64381.jpeg

According to wikipedia: In Ear Park is the second album by Department of Eagles. It was released by 4AD on October 7, 2008. The inspiration for the album is noted to come from Daniel Rossen's childhood experiences, most notably memories of those related to his father. The album is dedicated to his father, who died in 2007. In an interview for a 4AD DUMBO Session, Rossen reflected on the inspiration for the title of the album, quoting, "It was a nickname for a park that I used to go to with my dad, when I was a kid, and there was an interactive statue that looked like a giant ear...so we called it In Ear Park".70476E4A-3E11-499A-B0DE-ADCECC7E9716.jpeg
