The Other Side #55 rebirth

I’m writing this on the solstice, the time when the sun is at it’s most southern position in the sky and the day is the shortest and the night is the longest. For millions of years humans have celebrated the “rebirth” of the sun as the days grow longer and the nights grow shorter. It’s the time when the slow progression of the deterioration turns into the rise of re-birth. Since January we have been in a freefall of uncertainty and a feeling of pending doom. The elections were over, and the people lost, corporation were in control and all we could do was hold on to our hats. But now, its no longer 2017, the year of Trump, it’s 2018, the mid-term election year when we take it back! Now we have a goal, we have something to work for, we can change the world! That’s the beauty of the United States of America, we over throw our Government every two years! And without a shot! Our politics is a substitute for violence. Now the majority can take its rightful place, we can make America Good again. One by one, we can elect progressive Representatives, and Senators, who can make life better for every American. But we can’t do it by sitting in our homes and wringing our hands, we must get off our duffs and organize, because the rich are going to try and hold on to their control. The corporations and the millionaires don’t have to work like we do, they simply hire someone else to work. We don’t have that luxury, but we have what they don’t, numbers! There are 20 times more workers than there are rich people and corporations can’t vote (yet). To win, all we must to do is not get distracted by the commercials and the shiny mailers that will fill our mailboxes. Just remember, all that propaganda is paid for by the people who want to keep you poor. As the New Year begins, we begin. The future is ours for the taking, and election day will be here before you know it so don’t wait, start today and we will all have a Happy New Year!
