The myth of russian collusion and the sickness of democracy

in #democracy6 years ago (edited)

There still is the never ending story of russian meddling in the US elections and by now the entire issue has developed into an insult to the intelligence of the US population. Did russia influence the elections? Sure, they have an interest and therefore it is very reasonable to assume they at least tried.

But this is nothing new or confusing. Foreign interference in elections is the norm. We have a global world, we should not expect there to be a magic vacuum suddenly only because we are having an election. In fact the master of foreign interference is not russia. Its the US.

But lets ask a different question then. Was russian interference a big thing? Here the answer is clearly a no. Remember cambridge analytica? That was far bigger. Or look at the campaign funding. Every dollar is a person trying to influence the election. Now these may be internal attacks on the election, but compared to these the alleged russain interference of a few thousand facebook adds is a joke.

For long time democratic elections have not been about who is supported by the population, but a mix of internal and foreign actors covering the population in propaganda to gain access to government power. This has been a major contribution to people being so misinformed and radicalised. And this is no surprise given what is at stake. The entire idea of representative democracy is a faulty construct by game theoretical standards.

Now people are mad because they have to suffer a president that was installed by russia. Or they are mad because they have a president installed by the big corporations. And via the democratic process suddenly in their private lives they feel the long arm of Putin. That is a scary idea.

But the real problem is not that there is the wrong president, it is that there is a president at all. That we allow others to have power over our lives and then complain that the wrong persons by corruption obtain that power. I dont want anybody to decide what I should or be allowed to do! Not russia, not the republicans and not the democrats.

What has democracy brought us? A misinformed and angry population, trying to fight each other because they feel threatened by the "other" side. And with good reason, because the political opponent wants to controll them. But this dynamics does only one thing. It protects the interest of those who corrupt the democracy.

This is done via a false dilemma. Either you support the "left" or the "right". Both sides have quite opposite ideas, more than enough to fight about. But when it comes to securing a strong state, military and patriotism they are almost the same. So guess what you get when you enter in that fight? You get a strong state protecting the interest of a few and you get global militarism.

This is not the fault of the stupid population, it is the fault of the democratic system that makes it easy to controll the masses. It took some time to figure this out properly, and there may even be better ways to be discovered. But one cannot deny that a direct cause of democracy are angry and misinformed people.

If we look at the wealth distribution in our modern society, it resembles quite accurately ancient Egypt, where a small elite controlled all the resources and a large part of the people has to work hard for very little profit. And that is no coincidence. Our current system of controll and authority is almost the same, it is only packaged better. Instead of claiming authority by some religious BS, now the elites claim that we have the power and let us exist in this shared illusion of lies and blind rage.

Did any agency enquired the matter?

more importantly, can we really trust the agencies?

On the topic I find the analysis of ray mcgovern to be quite convincing, but because I am not in the secret service I have only public information at hand. From there it is hard to come up with a definite yes or no, so all we can do is look at the incentives and how the game is played.

Lets wait and watch

Obviously you only read the MSM, since it is widely known by now that the FBI has been backing the communist corporations who want globalism (wordwide communism, with populations reduced to half a billion, the other 7.5 billion to die)

They are tools for Soros, Rothschilds and so on. By the way, corporate communism does expempt the corporations and banks from communism, they get to keep what they have, only we do not.

To a small part I agree with this post, but not with the major part of it, because the poster is one of those who believe we should not have governments. That is a separate argument and the subject of whether we are influenced by this country or another has nothing to do with the main thrust of this post.

Of course the corporations and Dems are angry - they represent corporate marxism...as do most countries in the EU, plus the UK and China. Russia is now a capitalist country, so of course they are angry at ANY influence they have. Isn't it funny, the only country we should be eager to have as friends, people are being persuaded they are our enemy.

Trump was not elected by the corporations and the banks, only the people took up his cause and voted for him, because he represented a return to sanity and decency.

I agree that democracy is no longer democracy as we knew it. From the time the courts decided corporations have the same rights as the citizens and they can donate to back the candidate they favour, they drastically reduced the influence of the common voter. This time, with Trump, may be the last time it happens.

I honestly hope you are correct on Trump, but I am not that optimistic.
