Deforestation in the Abongphen Highlands Forest of Kedjom-Keku

I (@mr-greens) almost cried when i witnessed humanity's cruelty on the environment. This is a video of what is happening at the Afromontane forests of the Bamenda Highlands and precisely at Kedjom-Keku.

Deforestation and forest fires are some of the things @thegreens, La Liberte Arts Group and @kedjom-keku are working hard to put an end to.
Deforestation and Forest fires still remain a major threat to the rich biodiversity of the Bamenda Highlands Forests and we must take action to educate and engage people to become environmental watchdogs and put an end to these malpractices.

Add your voice to ours and join us to take action to halt deforestation and forest fires. Plant trees to save the Abongphen Highlands Forest of Kedjom-keku with @treeplanter.

Hi, good to know that on the other side of the globe likeminded people work for Mother Earth. What exactly brings people to burn the forest in your area? I guess they do that for cultivation of the land. Who owns the land ....?

Green greetings @johano. The forests is butchered for agriculture and pasture but of recent, its butchered just because people want to grab the land: A new Land grabbing technique. The land is owned by the community and the traditional ruler is the custodian of the land. However, we signed a leasing partnership with the community via the traditional ruler to lease us 1000 hectares for us to conserve it using a forest friendly business strategy that is more profitable than the subsistence agriculture and grazing that is taking place there. Apiculture is our primary business
