INTRODUCTION TO LETSEARN PROJECT

The LETSEARN project is a joint initiative of the European Commission and the Greek Government aiming to promote a European approach to the development of a new, autonomous and sustainable energy system. The project is funded under the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme. It is a unique collaboration between the European Commission, European industry, the Greek national research and education network (GRNET), the Greek energy market agency (EETHA) and the European technology platform for long-term innovative projects (ETP-LTI). The project is coordinated by GRNET and has a total budget of € 1 Mio., which is provided by the European Commission and Greek Government. The project is aiming to build a new energy system based on renewable energy sources by testing a new business model, known as the LETSEARN model.

Blockchain is a technology that stores and distributes data in a highly secure and decentralized manner without the need of a central administrator. It is a peer-to-peer distributed ledger which is updated and maintained by the network of computers rather than a central authority. This technology has been widely popularized by the introduction of Bitcoin as the first application of blockchain. In the recent past, blockchain has been receiving a lot of attention from the media and the public alike.

The objectives of the LETSEARN project are: To improve the opportunities available to people with disabilities in order to help them find and retain employment. To provide tailored support to individuals with disabilities in finding and retaining employment and to increase their employability To build the skills of employers and service providers to provide opportunities to people with disabilities, and to increase the employability of people with disabilities To embed an inclusive approach to employment in the mainstream service delivery network and to promote an employment-friendly culture in the region.

One of the main objectives of LETSEARN is to facilitate the aspirations of talented students by providing a platform for students to showcase their talents and skills to the world. The secondary objective of LETSEARN is to provide an avenue through which students can earn from the comfort of their homes.
