How much did the military spend yesterday? $4.1 billion

in #defensespending6 years ago

Yesterday's big winner was the Sierra Nevada Corporation with a contract worth $1.8 billion for work pertaining to A-29 attack planes. The contract involves foreign military sales to Afghanistan and was the result of a “sole-source acquisition.” However, the contract is being funded by appropriated funds from Afghanistan Security Forces.

The US Air Force has an ongoing mission training Afghan pilots and ground crews in Georgia's Moody Base. The training is overseen by the 81st Fighter Squadron. One A-29 crashed during training and required replacement.
