The Voice of God.... By (Louis Israel Newman)

I sought to hear the voice of God,
And climbed the topmost steeple,
But God declared:"Go down again,
I dwell among the people.

Explanation:
In this poem the poet was in search of God. He wanted to hear the voice of God. For this reason he climbed the topmost religious place(steeple). But when he climbed to the steeple the God said that I live among the people.
