Dangers of writing
As I come to conclusions easier if I externalise information by taking notes, I actually do try to write down my thoughts regularly. Such writing functions as a static repository of ideas that you can come back to, rewrite and thus, in the best case, improve. I put improve in quotes here because you might just as well fall for a fad or ideology and the rewriting doesn't actually benefit you in the long run. Indeed, static text can make for a dogma, so it's a double-edged sword. And I actually very much doubt that the right philosophy is a notion that makes sense or something you can reach. But a worldview influences ones own actions and happiness and is thus a crucial thing to develop.
In conclusions, engage in writing down you thinking, even if it's dangerous.
Tell me what sort of note you take.
Do you have the possibility to look back
on your thoughts?
Ideals
You may be best in a certain collection of things. Even any possible other person that's taken as idol to strive for will already be behind you in some regards. Thus, ones ideal shouldn't be an actual person, for then you're limited by their limits. You can imagine a character that fits with your basic core that's better than anyone alive yet and aim at being like that.Tell me, and be honest..
...are you on your purpose with the things you do in your life right now (chosen goals that get you further)?
...are the things you do in line with your purpose?
...did you even set up a goal?
And here, again, I'd be weary for trying to not looking forward to what you see in another person.
Don't settle for other peoples limits.
My motto from a few years of going to conferences and networking cocktails is that it's always better with 1-3 new, lasting, relationships than 50 new business cards...
Indeed, a fight that was not forced upon one of the participants only has 2 losers.
Keep up the writing!
I guess on conferences you want to give everyone the chance to remember your face next time. However, you don't want to go away with nobody being able to remember your name ;)
