The DeepOnion takeover Era, via marketing.

** Disclaimer: This is my opinion take it as you wish, there should be only 1 common goal between the community and if you don’t know what that is you’re in the wrong place **

Different strokes for different folks.
(Different things appeal to different people.)

It seems we have hit a new twist when it comes to marketing across the interwebz. There’s no longer a need to purchase bots or scripts that will crawl other sites and deliver comments in the name of the company. We have reached the point where a small army of marketing soldiers are compensated (paid doesn’t seem to better the cause) on a weekly basis to deliver the news of its employer.

As many others on here this is a fair exchange, even to me it was a nice reward to be active and help spread the word to as many people out there as possible. With the sudden changes in points it seems that Quantity over Quality is the main concern (which we know it’s not the case but from outside this forum it’s what people think and there’s no need to sugarcoat that). Don’t scold me just yet hear me out, we have had an influx of users signing up to the forums over 1,000 new members in the past days. Now getting to my point as tasks roll out we bombard threads, and channels with the repetitive nature of ‘DeepOnion on the rise because TOR’ ok… and? This is literally what they think I have taken on conversation with users as I have myself stopped doing tasks because of the lack of effort being put into by other members.
Will I do the the tasks eventually? Yes, eventually once given the correct time and place for my input about the wonders that DeepOnion is I will share but I refuse to give them fuel to the fire.

      – People are living in the moment not for the future.

There is no longer an incentive to be engaged in the community besides the Domination Tasks, we will see these posts blow up like never before which is the apparent goal of this marketing plot, I’m willing to bet that the threads created and messages sent will decrease some 30-40% as users will come and go once they complete the task.

This leaves a bittersweet taste in the mouth of some, because as many complained that the DeepPoints system being abused by other avenues the true abuse will come from the Domination Tasks and unless the Administration is willing to remove more posts based on the lack of content then there’s really not much of a difference in the way the points were working before. As a matter in fact the Richlist has become useless since all users are limited to the same amount of points with the exception of a few others.

This in my opinion is a burden by those who are willing to invest large and get to see 40-50 messages on the board. Why is it a burden? Because the messages have no context and unfortunately on the other end the user writing the message is only chasing after those points instead of luring potential investors to increase the earnings on their ONIONS by engaging and interacting with other users.

Can we reach an amount of members that others can't yes, but we need to make sure it's being spread with a good intent.

The opinions expressed in this article are solely mine and are not meant to slander to undermine anyone or anything but since we do live in a sensitive world I figured I’d add another disclaimer.
