Deep Onion is still a young coin at 6 months old. The launch of Deep Onion last July already feels like a distant memory. Many things have happened since then. The developers adjusted several systems as they saw what worked and what did not work. They also listened to community feedback and implemented them. We will take a look at what Deep Onion has accomplished so far after 6 months and what the future can possibly bring.

After six months, Deep Onion just finished the 26th of the planned 40-week airdrop. From a handful of airdrop participants last July, the last airdrop was participated by 700+ members.

Deep Onion started at around $0.11 when it got listed in Novaexchange last August. After an initial rise in August to $5, the price of Deep Onion lingered at a range of $0.5 to $1 for several weeks. A break of the $1 resistance started a momentum in upward movement of price that has now led to the current price of around $13 at the time of this writing. Deep Onion briefly touched $19 but has since retraced in price. This appreciation in price reflects the improvements the developers have been doing to Deep Onion and the marketing that has been done for the past six months.

Initially listed in Novaexchange, Deep Onion can now be traded in many and popular exchanges such as Cryptopia, Kucoin, StockeExchange and Trade Satoshi. As Deep Onion becomes more and more popular, more and more exchanges will list it.

After the Deep Onion forum and DeepVault were launched, developments in Deep Onion have not stopped nor slowed down. There are ongoing developments such as the Android mobile wallet, DeepVault web front-end for the planned notary service business, and the VoteCentral platform which will allow members to actively participate in the future direction of Deep Onion. A number of developers were also recently hired to speed up code development. The Deep Onion team is still looking for 10 more developers to add to its increasing roster of talents.

From a handful of supporters at the start, Deep Onion has now over 10,000 members in its official forum. Some active members have been hired as moderators and developers. Some continually contribute original content to Deep Onion that helps other members make their way around the ins and outs of Deep Onion. Many of the original contents contributed by members are also used in promoting the coin in social media. These materials range from stunning videos, visually appealing graphic images and informative articles. Many members are active in the official forum sharing information, helping one another and encouraging one another.

The Deep Onion web site has also been redesigned and updated twice already to project an image of professionalism and to bring the site to modern web aesthetics. Two well-known moderators of the Deep Onion, brothers Doglover and Impressive also launched the DeepOnion.shop online store. This online store sells merchandise related to Deep Onion.

This year 2018 marked the completion of the Woocommerce plugin for Deep Onion. The plug-in is now being tested by the moderators and will be released soon. The Deep Onion Woocommerce Payment Plugin will allow online merchants to accept Deep Onion as a means of payment for their products. This will open doors for Deep Onion so it can be used in real world business transactions.

With Deep Onions market capitalization now at $60 million dollars and rising, the developers can easily raise enough funds to compensate their ever growing team. The trading volume has also increased so much that long time forum members and supporters can now profit to spend on their personal needs. Many though are still holding their Deep Onion coins and have not sold any.

The high valuation of Deep Onion has led other regular and prominent members and moderators to sell their Deep Onions to pursue other interests. Even though they are no longer seen in the official forum, their hard work, contribution and service during the most trying times of Deep Onion will always be remembered. As the old guards leave, new ones arrive to continue the work of improving Deep Onion.

Marketing Deep Onion in the internet is now one of the top priorities of the Deep Onion team. Various marketing programs are being launched every day to target cryptocurrency enthusiasts that could be interested in what Deep Onion has to offer. Long time marketing programs such as the weekly Deep Onion Lottery run by Themonkii is still ongoing with bigger and bigger prizes as the price of Deep Onion rises. Weekly contests are still there, run by regular Deep Onion members. The regular contests were given a boost by the recent addition of Bykardinal’s Weekly best of the week in videos, memes, wallpapers, articles and newbie chance. The prizes range from 50 to 150 Onions which translate to around $650 to $2,000. There is also a weekly MVP award by Vaas that gives a reward of 180 Onions each to 3 outstanding members of the Deep Onion community.

Marketing also has improved much from the initial blanket marketing done in social media to targeted marketing using the VIP domination tasks. The VIP Domination group markets Deep Onion quietly so that Deep Onion will not be seen as spamming social media.

The Deep Onion Whitepaper has also been released that described the technical aspects of Deep Onion and its future direction. Many traders and investors want to read a coin’s whitepaper before committing their funds to it.

Deep Onion has accomplished a lot in six months. Almost all of the road map items of Deep Onion are being followed exactly and sometimes more items are being added when the circumstances call for it. The future looks next to the addition of DeepSend and Smart Contracts features into Deep Onion. How big can Deep Onion get now depend on the Deep Onion team and its large community. Market capitalization in hundreds of millions of dollars or even billions of dollars is no longer a dream but is only a matter of time and a matter of hard work.

The drive of the developers, moderators and the community has not abated and we can only expect more developments coming from Deep Onion. The vision of the developers of making Deep Onion successful together with its community that will share in its challenges and triumphs is slowly coming to fruition.
