Top 5 Blockchain summits held in Europe as Decentralized 2018 approaches.

The long awaited Decentralized 2018 summit in Greece will be commencing in a few days. More than 1000 people from different parts of the World are set to gather at the Divani Caravel Hotel in Athens from November 14th to 16th to discuss relevant topics in the world of Blockchain Technology and Cryptocurrency.

University of Nicosia is the main organizer of the event in which top speakers have been invited, many of whom represent or own successful Blockchain start ups. Decentralized 2018 is coming after a long list of Blockchain events that have been successfully held in Europe. Below are some of these events;

CoinfestUK, 2017;

CoinfestUK was held on April 7th to 8th 2017 at Manchester Conference Center. Exceptional speakers were invited to discuss the topics of Bitcoin and the Law, electronic voting and gaming on the blockchain. This event which was organized by Crypto Bates Group had a lot of activities ranging from educational sessions to work shops to give the people of England a clear understanding of Blockchain Technology and what it holds for the future.

Among the presentations that were arranged to inform the attendees were Bitcoin education sessions hosted by Greg Walker, Introduction to Blockchain hosted by Portsmouth Crypto, Mining education sessions hosted by Greg Walker, Introduction to Blockchain, smart contracts and distributed databases hosted by Glynn Bird.

Malta Blockchain summit, 2018;

This was one of the largest blockchain events in the history of Malta. It recorded a spectacular 8000+ in attendance which was early this month on 1st. Though there were some challenges in terms of space as exhibitors had little space to present their products, it was a great opportunity for networking with people from key industries in different parts of the world.

The attendees were treated to some excitement by setting up some contests for the ICO pitch which saw 35 companies present their projects. This was a good strategy to give exhibitors a platform to present their products infront of investors with the potential of funding their start ups. This contest was won by Rise and AE Token, a revenue generating company and Tata and GoMama, a company working in building a distributed GPU super computer.

London Fintech Week, 2017;

London has been one of the most conducive cities for fintech to thrive thus playing a huge role in the growth of blockchain technology in UK. Dating all the way back from 2014, London Fintech Week 2017 was the fourth Fintech summit in London. The event has kept growing with World financial leaders increasing in attendance every year. Just like the summits before, the London Fintech Week 2017 had a collection of workshops, conferences, exhibitions, meetups, hackathons and parties meant to connect companies and people in the World of Blockchain technology to new clients, investors, partners, peers and increase value for their businesses too. This went on from 7th to 14th July each day coming with new speakers, exhibitors and topics. This event was organized at a time when the Brexit debate had just started, turning out to be key for many leaders in Europe to attend as they needed to find reasons to back the Brexit plan or otherwise.

Blockchain & Bitcoin conference Russia, 2017;

The Blockchain and Bitcoin conference in 2017 was organized in Moscow, Russia from 15th to 16th November. This is one of the largest blockchain summits in Russia attracting notable speakers including Marina Guryeva, CEO of Cyber Fund, Oleg Ivanov, CEO of CryptoBazar Fund and InvestBazar Fund, Andrey Yudin, Co-Founder of CryptoBazar Fund. These were among the long list of speakers invited to talk about the most important trends in the world of Blockchain Technology. Multitudes of companies where in attendance too to present the demos of their products for example Zetta, Brickblock, Manli among others.

Digital Finance World, 2017;

The Digital Finance World 2017 conference was organized in Frankfurt, Germany on 1st March. This was a two day event that attracted people from around the World to discuss about Blockchain Technology and increase it's awareness. Some of the key speakers at the summit included; John Tolbert, Leader Analyst at Kuppingercole, Yigit Kulabas, CMO at Kobil System Gmbh, Dennis Martens, Managing consultant at Synechron. These discussed about implementing a digital strategy that lasts, cyber risks, fintech, the future of blockchain technology among others.
