University of Nicosia Cyprus The First University in The World To Offer A Course in Cryptocurrency

There has been a lot of buzz about cryptocurrencies especially after the record high prices of last year!

There have also been a lot of developments both in the crypto and blockchain space. I read stories last year(2017) how some elite universities will be offering courses in cryptocurrency, but upto now I have never read anywhere of them being taught!

In this post, I will write about the University of Nicosia which is the first university in the world to offer a master’s degree in digital currency!

I am all excited to announce that there is a university in Cyprus called the University of Nicosia that is already offering a master's degree in digital currencies.

This is the first university to publicly offer a course in digital currency or cryptocurrency and they are also organizing a decentralized2018 blockchain event which i will talk about later in the post.

I will write below a brief about the University of Nicosia.

I looked through the University of Nicosia website and I was amazed by the information shared there.

The University of Nicosia has its own teams in 19 cities worldwide and has over 400 other University partners for student study abroad and exchange or research partnerships.

The university has centers in Europe and the United States. It has established regional study centers in Athens, Greece; Bucharest, Romania; and New York City, New York, USA.

The center in Romania was established in 2008 and the New York one was established recently in 2017 in Manhattan.

The University of Nicosia also has a partnership with top global international universities like the St George’s University of London, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, University of Patras and Hellenic Open University.

Accreditation and Recognition

All University of Nicosia Bachelor, Master and Doctoral Degrees are accredited by the Republic of Cyprus, following an independent evaluation by the Evaluation Committee for Private Universities (ECPU).

The University of Nicosia is accredited by the following bodies DIPAE
DIPAE, DOTAP, ETEK, PMQ and RCGP and recognized by QS Stars Label and EFQUEL Certification.
