The University of Nicosia is to host Decentralized 2018 in Athens,Greece.
I'm under the impression that we are one step closer to the mainstream adoption of blockchain technology, seeing that a number of universities, for example, the University of Nicosia, Princeton University, Duke University and many more are now offering blockchain courses with the intention of helping students, governments and businesses to develop a holistic view of the technical, social and business implications of blockchain technology as well as cryptocurrency. Not only that, but this year there have been a multitude of blockchain conferences so as to create blockchain awareness among the public. On a related note, the first ever university in the history of bitcoin and blockchain education to accept bitcoin for tuition payments, the University of Nicosia (UNIC), is proud to announce that Decentralized 2018 will take place on November 14-16 2018 at the Divani Caravel, Athens, Greece.
What are the prospects for Decentralized 2018?
After the Decentralized 2017 hitting a home run, the University of Nicosia has made a resolution to make arrangements for another blockchain summit this year. This year's summit is anticipating to host 1,000+ attendees from 50+ countries together with 70+ A-list speakers. The prime objective of the conference is to exchange knowledge and ideas on the innovative business as well as the political implications of blockchain technologies. Over and above the keynote speakers will also put their heads together about the industries set to be disrupted the most by blockchain technology.
Who are the speakers?
The conference is hosting top-notch speakers with unimpeachable backgrounds in this field. For example, Roger Ver, the CEO of bitcoin.com, Sussane Tarkowski, CEO of Bit Nation and many more. Among the A-list speakers, we do have our very own steemians, Matt Starkey and Dylan Leighton who have an excellent track record as blockchain evangelists. For all the conferences they have attended this year, they have wowed the conference goers duly. They will be talking about their project Oracle-D, that is using the blockchain technology to build grassroots communities in the commercial and humanitarian sphere at zero cost to clients. Literally, all the speakers are admirable professionals, and we should all hope for the best.
Who is sponsoring the event?
This event is being sponsored by over fifteen blockchain communities and some of the sponsors include ConsenSys, a blockchain software technology company based in Brooklyn, New York, Microsoft, a multi-national technology company that develops, manufactures, and licenses along with selling computer software and other related services, Harneys, a global offshore law firm and many more. Furthermore, the conference has academic supporters such as Global training and MBA international.
Let's watch this terrific trailer for Decentralized 2017, so we can get the bigger picture of Decentralized 2018.
Conclusion
The blockchain technology is a perfect backstage to many changing technologies, with the potential to disrupt business models and also, the way humans live. With all these blockchain conferences around the world where elites in the crypto space congregate, unquestionably, new innovations will take place on top of the blockchain that will revolutionize the world. From my point of view, UNIC, a well-developed University with a blockchain and cryptocurrency initiative, is setting up this summit so the public can draw an immense amount of interest in the blockchain technology, as well as create networking opportunities for the several businesses that are built around this technology.
