Decentralised social media

It seems every man and his dog is trying to get in on the decentralised social media platform boom. Howdoo is the latest kid on the block with grand ideas of how users can be paid for their driven social media content, as well as wanting to see people using the platform to buy and sell with each other direct from their cryptocurrency wallet's - in a real world, peer to peer decentralised way. Howdoo wants users to get fully onboard, including encouraging users to help maintain and run the nodes which keep the system working.

It would appear that within a year or two, we will see saturation point amongst decentralised social media blockchain's. Just as there are about 1500 active cryptocurrencies, so too will there be quite a number of decentralised social media options which pay their content creators. It's a good job that Steemit is establishing itself more and more each day and already has a head start at this stage. Will people become fed up that their friends are on so many different sites and will drift away from these new social media platforms, preferring to stick with what they know and are used to like Facebook for example? I myself have already seen some resistance to people leaving Facebook, with others chiming in that they are happy where their friend's are. With more and more social media platforms popping up all the time it surely will dilute the one's that are already here - and will it just mean that more and more end up with big numbers signed up but in reality lots and lots of accounts which aren't active or aren't real people (bots) Time will tell I guess but one thing is for sure: not all of them can be successful.
