SteemSports and Curie Dominate The Trending Page - Should We Make a Menu Tab for Them?
I think that SteemSports and Curie are currently beneficial for SteemIt, by helping New Authors get noticed as well as helping to redistribute some Steem to people who are not automatically on the voting bots. I appreciate both of these programs very much.
As much as I appreciate both groups, I wish they weren't the main items on the Trending Page, and I think there is an easy fix. Can we put them on a SteemIt tab or menu. Maybe they could replace the "Promoted" tab with "Steem Promotions" or some other name? If they plan to use the Promotion tab again, maybe put the new tab to the right of "active".
What do you think? Let's talk about it.

They do dominate trending a lot, Id suggest simply having a guild tab and a contest tab, there are lots of users hosting contests so it seems a bit odd to have a steemsports only tab at the moment.
I like that. Guilds. Excellent idea
why not pop over to git hub and put in a suggestion, it's worth a try and more likely to be noticed over there.
I am not big on signing up for a bunch of other utilities to use steemit, so I don't have an account there. If you do, and if you agree, feel free to add it. :)
I have an account but can't find my way around over there but i'll log in have a look round and forward the idea with a link to the post if i can work it out.
Thank you! That is kind of you.
It annoys me that the same story shows up on multiple tabs.
Like on Hot, New and Trending?
Just making sure I understand the comment.
yes...anything. Just so that I don't keep running into the SAME post that I've already read and voted on, time after time after time.
2 thumbs up homie!!!
thanks
From the perspective of a good UI design, it would probably not be good to essentially hardcode these two types of posts to be their own pages. They may be the trending projects today, but 3 months from now there could be something completely different.
Also, separating them out of "trending" is actually a lot harder than it sounds. The UI relies on the blockchain's count of how many posts are returned, so if some posts were excluded, it would not know when to load the next set of posts when you are scrolling down.
Excellent feedback from a technical standpoint. Just flushing out an idea.
Maybe an idea to change the trending tab. Most votes makes sense to some degree as opposed to most dollars. What about most votes with lowest dollars or something else in a different direction / formula that is used to fill the trending section.

Thank you.
Yes, exactly. It seems like an easy fix. I enjoy Steemsports and curie, but I would like them to not dominate the trending page.
Exactly
I was thinking something like that too when I looked at the trending page today. It gets a bit boring to see the same type of trending post. Maybe a project posts tab?
Yes, or Guild Page. (Cassandra suggested that)
