"South Carolina Legal Tender Act Would Treat Gold & Silver As Money"

– Synopsis –

A bill that has been prefiled in the South Carolina House of Representatives would make both gold and silver legal tender in that state.

Any transaction through gold or silver would have to be “agreed on by both parties.”  If both parties were to agree that the payment was to be made in gold or silver, then no government, no bank, or any other entity could force them to use the dollar (or any other medium of exchange).

South Carolina is not the first state to establish gold and silver as legal tender. Utah was the first to do so, in 2011. Oklahoma and Wyoming have subsequently followed suit.

Golden Beauty

Furthermore, the United Precious Metals Association (UMPA) has released the “Utah Goldback”  – which it describes as “the first local, voluntary currency to be made of a spendable, beautiful, physical gold.”

Utah has eliminated all taxes on silver and gold. As for South Carolina, it has already abolished sales tax on those 2 precious metals. And if the aforementioned bill passes, South Carolina will most likely eliminate the capital gains tax on them.

These moves are all part of a process to undermine the Federal Reserve system and its monopoly on US money.   (Image source)

– Insight from Outside –

According to the US constitution, the paper money issued nowadays by the Federal Reserve is NOT  legal tender. Only gold and silver are granted that status.

Easy Money ... for Some

However, things changed in 1913, with the establishment of the Federal Reserve system. The Fed was authorized to turn paper into money. That is, to create easy money, for the Fed and its cohort.    (Image source)

Those dollars were backed by gold, but only until 1971. In July of that year, Nixon declared that he was “temporarily”  stopping the convertibility to gold.

Since then, the valueless paper US dollar has been used by the Fed, other banksters, and oligarchs to extract wealth from anyone who is being compelled to use such paper. It’s called counterfeiting. It’s illegal.

Shiny Sound Money ... for All

Go for gold, South Carolina! Let’s all go for gold.

Greetings dearest friend @majes.tytyty.

Those dollars were backed by gold, but only until 1971.

Wow! This is amazing.

We would talk about 48 years of money production without legal support.
I understand that the Mint performs the daily destruction of millions of physical dollars to maintain a balance. I imagine that this same amount is created with new bills. But it is hard to believe that the economy of that country works with the same amount of monetary pieces for so long. Millions of new pieces of money had to have been created.

I believe that the US government has the possibility of reversing the devaluation of its currency. With legislative actions, the large reserves of gold and silver that this nation has to support its currency could be available.

Perhaps the goal is to replace the US Dollar?
Create a new national currency?

This would be the most disruptive global financial event we could witness.

Your friend, Juan.

The US govt might have the ability to reverse course, but, as far as we can see, it's not too late, and there are no leaders who are willing to bring about that course-reversal.

And yes, there will be a major "disruptive global financial event." Most clear-eyed observers tell us that. Given the facts of the current situation, I believe them.

Actually, it will be a "Very Smooth" transition out of Fiat Debt Notes, and into "Sound Money"... During the "Redemption Period" we will Remove all Federal Reserve Notes, and Replace them with our own "Sound Money"... "Sound Money" will be issued in many different forms... Start thinking "Paper" Coinage... "Smart Money" Coinage... "Digital" Coinage... "Crypto" Coinage, and "Decimal" Coinage... All will be Fully backed, Face Value for Face Value with U.S. Gold and Silver Bullion Coinage...

Hi @majes.tytyty

It means that soon people will be in Roman times and walk with their gold coins.

Sounds good and I like that idea that South Carolina will apply

Right! It's a good idea, and fiat currency has always been a bad idea. Go for GOLD!

This news surprises me.

On the other hand, I also find it amazing that something is considered "temporary" from 1971 to the present ... that is already too long for it to continue being considered a temporary thing.

One thing I've learned a long time ago is that, if a politician says something is "temporary," it's probably permanent.

Also, if a politician says something is "good for the people," it's definitely NOT good for the people, but good for the oligarchs instead.

And if a politician says he's promoting "democracy," he's probably doing whatever he can to silence the voice of the people and oppress the people.

I think you can see the pattern. It's ugly.

It is something that still surprises me ... that the art of living and negotiating in society to achieve common goals, that is, what was expected to be politics in its ideal form, because it is actually shown as a vulgar practice of cheating and unspeakable motivations.

In South America we have a saying that when the government gives a news of insurance the truth is the opposite of what they say, in the case of Venezuela we usually say it as a kind of cruel joke, but even when we try to laugh at that misfortune We can accept it as what is "normal", accept that is surrender and accept that there is no possible future, that nothing is worth it because nothing will improve or change.

Sometimes, I feel that wanting some social group and its leaders to be less liars and selfish is something utopian, but I guess it takes a little fantasy and hope not to fall completely into despair.

The only way to NOT fall into complete despair is to realize that you, we, the people can make a difference. There will be many obstacles, and it will take time, but eventually, we shall overcome.
