How does the thought of death makes you feel?

Who can be accountable for the number of days he would spend on earth?

No soul has been able to unravel the mystery behind death.

Hence, We always try to run away from the reality of death. The young believing that they are too young to die and old wishing if they can only turn back the hand of time.

The Painful truth is that death is inevitable.

Based on statistics, an average number of;
6,316 people die each hour.
51,600 people die each day.
55.3 million people die each year.source

Meanwhile, this post is not to create fear of death, but to awaken our reality to the fact that we will surely die someday. And possible makes the best use of our remaining time here on earth.

We don't have all the time on earth to postpone that particular change or impact we have always wanted to make, we all have to start right now, right here.

The right question we should always ask ourselves is; what difference should I be making with my life right now?, knowing quite well that mother nature can send for us anytime.

we should also be aware that the life we are given is a privilege not a right.

Based on my research, I found out that “Death” plays a very fantastic role in tibetan Buddhist tradition as it form's their major focus during meditation. Which frequently take place at the funeral or in the presence of dead and decomposing bodies. They are deeply conscious of inevitability of death and what it means for the living.

This ritual helps them to realize that all possession are temporal even their own existence.

Below includes their nine point meditation On *death *and it's established truth, which might interest and inspire you;

Truth1: Death is certain

  1. We cannot avoid death
  2. Each day we live, brings us nearer to death
  3. Death comes in its own time and when it's least expected.

Truth2: The time of death is unknown.

  1. The duration of our lives is unpredictable
  2. There are more causes for death than causes for life.
  3. The human body is extremely fragile.

Truth 3: The only thing that can stand for you at the time of death is your mental and spiritual development.

  1. Wealth we’ve acquired can’t help
  2. Friends and family can’t help
  3. Even Our bodies can’t help

The Tibetan Buddhists prompt themselves of these truths so as to encourage the practice of Dharma, (Buddha teachings) and to make two important realizations:
  1. Recognizing how brief and precious their life is – by knowing this, they’re more likely to make it meaningful and live it at its best.

  2. getting acquainted with the reality of death –by doing so, they can get rid of the fears that emanates from the prospect of dying.

so we all have to acknowledge that we must surely die at anytime. Being in a constant fear of death, will deny us the opportunity to have a meaningful life. To avoid that we must value our time and make the best use of it. Always Stand for the Truth and what's right, even if it requires us standing alone.

We either live for something or we die for nothing

Finally we have to bear in mind that History Always remembers those who live for a just cause.

Life is transient, life is short, so in all we do we must remember that we have a limited time to live here on earth, and with every passing day death draws nearer.
What matters most is what we are remembered by when we leave this plane.
Death is inevitable but then it is also the very thing that heralds the end to every man's turmoils.
John Keats in his poem "Ode on a Grecian Urn", he described the transient nature of life and ended by saying, "Beauty is truth, and truth beauty"
