Serious topic indeed and one I know quite a bit about. I'm "lucky" in that I have a support group that I go to - been three times this week. It's for recovering alcoholics, of which I am one, and it feels like a safe space to talk about this stuff. I saw an interesting 'meme' motivational thing on Twitter yesterday that I'll share here, because it spoke about the invisibility of depression...
I want people to understand depression but I also just want it to go away. pic.twitter.com/QCEJYgADZU

By the way - Asparagus? I had to rewind that. I'm guessing you meant to say Asperger's? That's what I and my son have; his is further along the spectrum than mine. My dad had it too, as does my dad's nephew. Seems to hit all the males in my dad's line.
Thank you @camuel for sharing your thoughts! It really means a lot, especially for the people who are afraid to talk about it, it gives a reason not to be afraid to share. It also feels good to share experiences, especially when people can relate to them, and understand each other.
You won't believe, but I was trying to find the right pronunciation in my head before the word came out of my mouth. haha
The tweet speaks for itself. Only after all this time I have not seen my friend and started listening to various podcast on mental health and awareness I start to understand how difficult it can be to express it, share it, and even more harder to push yourself to seek professional help.
