Cheap or free date nights for parents

Finding low key or cheap dates for parents can be difficult at times, especially with the rising costs of everything. 

However, here are a few ideas to enjoy some time together, reconnect and you don't need to spend much money.

Check local listings for festivals around the city or town that you live in, even the surrounding areas.  Throughout much of the summer there is an array of festivals and events hosted mainly on the weekends. Usually they are free or cost is minimal.  Grab a quick bite at home to cut down on having to eat a full dinner at a restaurant. 

Go for a hike or a walk at a local trail, bring along some snacks, and even something to drink.  

Take a walk along the river if you have one in your area, or even the local downtown area. Browse some shops and even a coffee.
