Datareum - take control over your info

Today I have new interesting project to write about. Have you ever asked yourself how did my phone knew I want to see this movie? .. or .. Why is my favorit food poping up on social media all the time?

Well it is not coincidence. Everything you do on digital side of the world is being tracked, recorded and used for data analysis. I know it sounds as a theory craft, but it is not. For example, if you are shopping with those “customer bonus cards” where you get some items or discount, those are not for customer experience as you thought so. You see, big stores use those to track what you buy, then they analyzed it so they could fill more alike products for you to buy. You can see difference in products between same stores in different neighborhoods.
You see everything is being tracked today, digital world allows it, specially you when you click “I agree..” and have no idea for what. I click and you gave everything.

A group of people is working on a project based on Blockchain technology where you could control data about yourself.

Project is called Datareum.

Every data you create in digital world has huge value. Companies use it to create new products, governments to improve our lifestyle (or something like that, I’m sure), even researchers use it to develop better world. So why give it for free?
For now there is no way you can control your data, or even see everything world knows about you.

But Datareum is trying to change that. With Datareum You will be able to put the data you want into Smart Contracts where it will be locked safely. Only access to this vault is by you, and you can also sell this data to researchers.
They will have a marketplace where someone will ask for data for some research, and if you decide you want to be a part of that, you can sell them your data, and get DTN tokens in return. Being payed will be ensured by smart contract and researchers will get real filtered data they need.
Today data is becoming new gold or oil on the market. Why waste it for free?
