Zcash vs. DASH: How Do They Compare Across the Board? [6 Metrics of Long-Term Success in Crypto]
Many participants in the crypto-economy are looking forward to tomorrow’s launch of Zcash (ZEC), when mining operations go live. The primary feature differentiating Zcash from other alt-coins is its privacy features, and as a holder, user and masternode operator of DASH, I have ben wondering how the new Zcash coin compares to existing privacy features in Bitcoin and existing privacy-centric coins, such as DASH, which have been around for a while already. In the video below, Amanda B. Johnson uses her six metrics of long-term success to score the protoocols.
The video is the most recent release from Amanda’s excellent “DASH Detailed” series, which is funded through the mining reward system of the DASH network. I would welcome a discussion in the comments with anyone who has an interest in the subject.

Thanks for the post I now have more sources for information. I couldn't spot zcash on Poloniex, where is it traded? I followed you :)
The coin launches tomorrow when the mining begins. I assume the exchanges will pick it up as soon as coins are available, as many miners are probably jumping in for the sole purpose of dumping the coins for whatever BTC they can get from the market rather than to use or hold. If it's something you believe offers a worthwhile value proposition, I might recommend mining it through Genesis or other cloud service rather than purchasing from speculators in the secondary market.
You can pay for mining if you want. I published an article about it last night, with tons of links and info.
Thanks @thylbom. You might be interested in my Zcash article from last night.
@anotherjoe I just upvoted your article. I signed on for the $280 13-month plan with Genesis just for the hell of it. It's really just play money for me, and I'll count my bits in November 2017 see where I landed . For the longer term, I'm much more interested in the DASH program and have a more serious investment in DASH masternodes. Both DASH and Zcash are good on privacy, which is very important. Bitcoin will also improve in this regard over time. IMO the most interesting feature of DASH is its governance and mining reward structure. They also have a well thought-out roadmap for development in their "Evolution" product, which is a wallet on steroids that they will be rolling out sometime in 2017 if it goes according to plan.
Cool! Did you use my discount code??! :)
Yeah, I wish I'd gotten in DASH early. Same with Monero. But I missed the initial position, so it's harder to decide when to jump on board. I've been trying to watch for ICOs and new launches with good fundamentals and a good team, but just started doing so over the past few months.
