Is DASH a trustworthy project?

Dash gets a ton of hype every now and then. Here are some facts on it's history:

• There were around 2.2 million Dash instamined in its first 48 hours
• There have been enormous pump and dumps since then
• The current 24 hour volume doesn't reflect or come close to the amount of Dash some of the founders have
• Masternodes make the system less decentralized
• PrivateSend does not offer deterministic privacy (what can be achieved with zero knowledge proofs). It also provides arguably worse privacy than traditional bitcoin mixing, in part because of the centralization of its masternodes
• A portion of Dash's mining rewards goes towards developers and other projects masternode holders choose
• Very few people own a large number of masternodes
• With 1 masternode = 1 vote, a small number of people are able to control an enormous part of the network and how resources are distributed
• Dash has spent millions of dollars paying Youtubers, writers and speakers to promote it

All in all, whether Dash is interesting or not, it has had a very shady past and should be invested in with caution.
